How to Screen Record Your Screen
Pick your device below.
iPhone/iPad — Built‑in Screen Recording (Control Center)
- Open Settings › Control Center and add Screen Recording if it isn’t there.
- Open Control Center (swipe down from the top‑right on Face ID devices; up from the bottom on Home button devices).
- Press the Record button. Long‑press to enable Microphone if you want voice‑over.
- A 3‑second countdown starts. Navigate to your app and capture.
- To stop, tap the red status bar or the Control Center record button. The video saves to Photos.
- Turn on Do Not Disturb to hide notifications while recording.
- In Settings › Camera › Formats, use Most Compatible for easier sharing if your editor struggles with HEVC.
Android — Built‑in Screen Recorder (Android 11+)
- Swipe down twice for Quick Settings and tap Screen Record. (If missing, edit tiles to add it.)
- Choose Device audio and/or Microphone as needed. Toggle Show touches if available.
- Tap Start. After the countdown, capture your screen.
- Stop from the notification shade. The video saves to Photos/Gallery.
- Samsung: Quick Settings › Screen recorder. Configure sound & video quality in Settings › Advanced features › Screenshots and screen recorder.
- Pixel: Quick Settings tile Screen Record; options for mic & device audio.
Mac — Built‑in Screen Recording (Screenshot Toolbar)
- Press Shift ⌘ 5 to open the Screenshot toolbar.
- Select Record Entire Screen or Record Selected Portion.
- Click Options to choose Save to location and enable Microphone if needed.
- Click Record. Use the menu bar ● stop button to finish. The file appears on your chosen location.
- Open QuickTime Player › File › New Screen Recording.
- Use the dropdown next to the record button to pick a mic or show clicks.
- Start and stop recording from the menu bar. Save the file when prompted.
Windows — Built‑in Screen Recording (Xbox Game Bar)
- Press Win + G to open Game Bar.
- Click the Capture widget (camera icon). If you don’t see it, enable Settings › Gaming › Xbox Game Bar.
- Use Start Recording (●) or press Win + Alt + R to toggle recording.
- Files save to Videos › Captures.
- Install OBS Studio. Open and create a new Scene.
- Click + under Sources › choose Display Capture (entire screen) or Window Capture.
- Set Output format and folder in Settings › Output.
- Click Start Recording. Click Stop Recording to finish.
